Diabetes Bible Study - Being A Doer
James 1: 23-24
For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he
is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:
For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and
straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
BEING A DOER
God blesses what we do…and that might seem like a simple statement, but how do you apply this to your life with diabetes?
Being a doer of the Word and not just a hearer comes into play in our lives so many times each day. It’s easy to fall into the
“I wish I…..” mode and start fantasizing about the things we should be doing instead of just making our attempt/steps at completing the
task. So yes, we may have thought about losing weight for years but it’s the attempt….the act of trying…the action, that God will
bless. If we want our lives to change from doubt to confidence, what is the first thing to
do? Well, you may want to trying the action of telling yourself that you are strong through the Lord. Just say it out loud to
yourself….that action will be blessed.
It’s important to take the thought out of our minds and make it an act that can move us toward our goals….diabetes and otherwise. So,
being a doer is a simple as taking one step, no matter how small, toward your goal.
