Diabetes Bible Study - Don't Worry

Worry can be as tangible as something you can touch and feel. Waking up thinking about what "might" happen.  Or having throughts about things you are afraid to deal with just brings tension into your day.  Diabetes can bring worry into your day, if you allow it.  So try not to worry. Get informed.  Be proactive, and live a good life.

Matthew 6:34
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things.  Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

The worries that come along with diabetes seem to be so serious and life-threatening.   Thoughts of blindness, amputation, kidney failure and other problems can come daily.  After all, these worries are supposed to make us more motivated to take care of ourselves., right?  Then there are the daily worries.  Did you take your insulin/oral medications correctly?   Will your blood sugars be good today?  Is your doctor going to tell you to lose more weight?  So many questions and thoughts to deal with.

God tells us not to worry about it, but how can we not worry when all these bad things might happen.  The key word in that line is “might”.   Think about it.  If you’re worrying about something that might happen doesn’t that mean you’re worrying and spending time contemplating things that don’t exist?

Take the time you have today and use it for good things, not for things that don’t exist.  Help someone, help yourself, say a prayer, read some scripture….do anything other than worrying.
