Diabetes Bible Study - Forgiving Others
Isaiah 44:22
Matthew 18:21-22
Mark 11:25-26
Luke 6:37
Luke 17:3-4
Giving forgiveness to others is one of the most difficult things for us to do. Just letting a situation go, and acknowledging that
we ALL make mistakes can be a tough pill to swallow. But it’s something that needs to be done in order to live a peaceful life.
Stress plays a BIG rold in high blood sugars and getting rid of hostility and anger can go a long way towards helping control your blood sugars.
Forgiving others is based in God’s forgiving of our own sins. We’re told to forgive others the same way God forgives us. That is good
to keep in mind when a situation arises where we have to forgive someone. Put yourself in their place, and ask yourself, "Would I
want God to forgive me for this?" The answer is always yes. When you sit down and think about it, how much time do you spend on a
grudge? Well, there’s the thinking, then there’s the feeling of pain, then we have to tell it to people, then we have to figure out a way
to get the person back, etc…. A lot of wasted time, which might affect your diabetes management. The Bible distinctively tells us to rebuke
a person if they trespass against us, but if they repent, and say they’re sorry, we have to forgive. It’s it amazing how difficult it is
for us to let grudges and vengeance go? Forgiving doesn’t mean condoning an act, but it means we no longer carry the pain and anger in our
hearts. Then we’re free to do God’s work and live our lives in a better way.
