Diabetes Bible Study - When To Change
Genesis 35:2
Luke 5:35-39
When you desire a change in your life, how will we know when to make a move? Not knowing the right time to change can lead to
anxiety and worry, if you let it. But think about it for a second. Why worry about something that happens constantly by
itself? One second from now is “change”, and one more hour will bring more change. Our part in what changes in our life is
something we should consistently think about and work at.
If you want a positive change in your diabetes management plan or other parts of your life, you need to do it NOW. Try to find
out If you have an old broken bottle, do you wait until the liquid has leaked out totally before you try to change the bottle? Or do you
rush to get it into a new container before it’s all gone? By the same token, if there is something you want to change about the way you
manage your diabetes do it this instant. Don’t think about what you didn’t do yesterday, what you brother told you to a year ago, or
what you might be doing tomorrow. This second is all that matters.
Living in the moment is a good way to judge your diabetes management decisions. Is what you do at this moment trying your best or
trying the least? Make your positive moves today..?
APPLICATION:
1. What in your diabetes management plan would you like to change for the better? Your attitude? The way you handle food?
How you react toward your doctor? Write it down on a piece of paper and think about it.
2. What positive move toward that change do you think you can do at this moment?
3. What outward and inward signs of change can happen? (for example: not looking grumpy all day (helping with
stress) making a food budget (eating better) , more positive thinking,….) Or just getting up and testing your blood sugar NOW, if you
haven’t done it in awhile is good. Little moves make big footprints.
