Have you ever thought about the power of one? "One" is often thought of as a single, solitary unit of measurement. Or you may think of it as some lonely individual always trying to find another. You may even think of one as being weak since it has nothing else. Those are just some ways of think of one.
We think of one in another way. We call it the "Power Of One Moves". These are actions you can do that can change your life. One isn't just single and solitary. It can be awesome and inspiring. It doesn't have to be lonely. It can be grouped and added on to so that it slowly and surely accumulates. And one is far from weak. One act can be the most exciting, life-changing event that you've experienced. See, it's all in how you look at it.
Often when diabetes comes into a life it can be overwhelming. You might have immediately had to learn how to eat differently, exercise differently, and even think differently. It can seem like an endless maze of new terms and uncomfortable changes you may or may not want to make. How can you deal with it in a better way? Make some Power Of One Moves in your life.
Postive One moves are going to get you out of the past and into the NOW (where change can happen). Remember, you can always change…this instant, this second….just do ONE thing differently and you're on your way.
Here are some Power-Of-ONE moves you can make today with your diabetes management/weight loss plan:
Make sure you know your blood sugar at least ONE time today
Eat ONE meal on time today
Do ONE exercise today, even if it's a chair exercise. (See the chair exercise file)
Write in your diabetes journal today for ONE minute.
Drink at least ONE cup of water today.
See, just doing ONE thing can make a big difference in your life and in your diabetes management plan. Don't underestimate the power of ONE.
